Saturday 16 December 2023 to Sunday 4 February 2024

School Holiday Programme Activities

Just because school’s out, doesn’t mean the learning has to stop. So, through a mix of school-based activities and local day trips, we design fun and inclusive holiday programmes that build your child’s skills and knowledge while invigorating their sense of adventure.
Big believers in ‘everyone, anywhere, anyway’, our team of multidisciplinary guides can offer a whole range of activities for children of all abilities throughout Auckland. And we can partner with schools to tailor holiday programmes that work specifically for your pupils.

More work and fewer holidays for parents but less work and more holidays for children.

New Zealand's Term Four December and January school holiday programs provide numerous benefits and exciting features for students during the summer break. These programs, known as "school holiday programmes" or "holiday camps," offer a range of activities and experiences that contribute to the holistic development of students. Let's explore the key benefits and features of these programs.

Fun and Recreation:
School holiday programs prioritize fun and recreation. They offer a diverse range of activities that cater to various interests and age groups. Students can engage in outdoor adventures such as beach outings, hiking, or water sports, fostering a sense of adventure and exploration. They can also participate in games, sports, arts and crafts, and team-building activities, providing opportunities for enjoyment, creativity, and social interaction. The programs aim to create a positive and enjoyable environment where students can relax, have fun, and create lasting memories with their peers.

Skill Development:
School holiday programs focus on skill development. They offer workshops, classes, and specialized activities that help students acquire and enhance various skills. These skills may include sports, arts, music, cooking, leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Students can explore new areas of interest, develop their talents, and gain confidence in their abilities. The programs provide a supportive and structured learning environment, allowing students to improve their skills in a fun and engaging way. The acquisition of these skills contributes to their personal growth and self-esteem, providing them with valuable tools for the future.

Learning and Enrichment:
School holiday programs offer opportunities for learning and enrichment. They often incorporate educational components, such as science experiments, nature exploration, cultural workshops, or visits to museums and historical sites. These experiences broaden students' knowledge, spark curiosity, and promote a love for learning outside the traditional classroom setting. Students can gain a deeper understanding of various subjects, cultures, and the natural world. The programs encourage intellectual development, critical thinking, and a lifelong passion for learning, fostering a well-rounded education beyond academic studies.

Socialization and Relationship Building:
School holiday programs facilitate socialization and relationship building. They bring together students from different schools, backgrounds, and age groups, fostering social interaction, cooperation, and the development of friendships. Through collaborative activities, team-building exercises, and shared experiences, students learn to communicate effectively, respect diversity, and work together towards common goals. These programs create a supportive and inclusive community where students can connect, make new friends, and develop important social skills. The relationships formed during these programs can have a positive impact on their social development and contribute to a sense of belonging and camaraderie.

Personal Growth and Confidence Building:
School holiday programs promote personal growth and confidence building. They offer opportunities for students to step out of their comfort zones, take on challenges, and discover their strengths. Whether it's conquering a fear of heights during an adventure activity or showcasing artistic talents during a performance, students are encouraged to push their boundaries and embrace personal growth. The programs provide a supportive environment where students can develop resilience, self-belief, and a sense of achievement. These experiences contribute to building their confidence, self-esteem, and overall character development.
